Patch Notes

4.31.0 October 24, 2026

4.31.0 collects everything that has changed since 4.30.0 went live. Shyft replaces the taxi job with a rideshare app, business calls get call routing, transfers and caller ID, the STRP Phone picks up open apps, bulk delete and a stack of fixes, and police get the Shark Spike, a mobile cordon, an EOD robot and a new Hotlist and Borders app on the MDT.

🚗 Shyft

Shyft is Los Santos' new rideshare service and replaces the old taxi job. Open the Shyft app on your tablet, go online in your own car, and ride requests come to you. Riders rate every trip, and your rating decides how much work and money comes your way.

The Taxi Job Is Gone
The old taxi job and its Z menu have been removed. Everything now runs through the Shyft app on your tablet, and requests are only answered in the app, so keep it handy.

🟢 Going Online and Taking Rides

  • Tap GO in the driver's seat of an eligible car and you're online. Buses are out
  • Your car sets your service. Compacts, sedans, SUVs and vans run Standard. Big SUVs and vans with five or more seats can run XL. Nicer sedans, SUVs and sports cars unlock Comfort and Premier once your rating and level allow it
  • Requests come with a card: rider name and rating, distance to pickup, trip length and an upfront fare estimate. You have 20 seconds to accept or pass
  • Better-rated drivers nearby are more likely to receive a request
  • Pull up inside the pickup ring, confirm your rider with the arrow keys and Enter or in the app, and they get in, rear seats first. Stop inside the drop-off ring and they get out
  • There's a short wait between rides, a little longer after a completed trip. Passing on or ignoring a request also starts a wait
  • Riders who wait too long at the pickup give up. Cancelling with a rider on board hurts your rating. Cancelling before pickup doesn't

⭐ Ratings, Tips and Live Feedback

  • Five things, five stars. Riders rate pickup time, trip time, smooth driving, vehicle condition and rider care
  • Your live rating shows on screen and in the app while you drive, so you can see which part is slipping mid-trip
  • Timing expects you to keep up with Los Santos traffic. Dawdling costs stars, arriving early doesn't earn extra
  • Smooth driving forgives the odd tap of the brakes, but hard braking, crashes and bouncing the car count against you, and a rough patch takes a while to recover from
  • Good trips earn tips, bigger when the car is clean, the ride was smooth and the rider was looked after. Riders comment when you brake hard, crash, or the car's a state
  • Your overall rating is an average of recent trips. It gates the higher services and how often you're offered work

🧳 Riders, Luggage and Rider Care

  • Groups of one to four riders. XL takes the big groups, Comfort and Premier pay more and expect more
  • Exclusive riders pay well and rate hard. Night-out riders appear after 22:00 and might be sick in your car, so get it washed before your next trip
  • Luggage. Airport and long-distance riders bring bags. Put them in your boot and hand them over at the drop-off. Drive off with them still in the car and it's lost luggage
  • Rider care. Offer anything you're carrying that a person can eat or drink, up to three items per ride. The more filling, the happier the rider and the bigger the tip
  • Rider requests. Mid-trip a rider might ask for the radio, the window, a drink or a snack. Answer in time and it counts toward your rating
  • Riders chat during the ride, with optional speech bubbles above their heads

📲 The Driver App

  • Home: full-screen map with your position, pickup and drop-off routes, today's earnings and your online status. During a ride the trip card shows the live rating, lets you confirm your rider and lists any food or drink you're carrying
  • Earnings: weekly totals with a day-by-day chart, online time, trips, distance, a fare and tip breakdown and a week picker. Every trip has its own details page with a mini map and full rating breakdown
  • Preferences: choose which services you take, and filter out Exclusive requests or long trips
  • Recommended for you: progress to your next service unlock, the city's peak request hours and your own best earning hours
  • Settings: light or dark theme, request chime and volume, auto GPS waypoint, rider chatter and 3D speech bubbles

💵 Earnings Wallet

Fares and tips build up in your Shyft balance instead of landing in your bank straight away. Cash out from the app whenever you like, minimum $50.

  • Instant: the whole balance now, for a fee that shrinks as you unlock the quick-cash talents
  • Standard: free, arriving in your bank about twenty minutes later in chunks of up to $2,500, so a big balance takes a few runs to clear
  • Standard cashouts still arrive if you log out or the server restarts in the meantime

🌳 Talent Tree and Achievements

  • A new Shyft skill levels up with every trip. Its 48-talent tree covers more pay and tips, service unlocks, smoother-driving forgiveness, more patient riders, shorter waits between requests, airport and long-trip preference, VIP magnetism, night-owl bonuses, rush-hour surge pay, luggage pay, cheaper instant cashouts and better odds that riders accept what you offer them
  • Talents apply the moment you unlock them, and the app updates to match
  • Five achievement chains: Shyft Driver (rides completed, up to Shyft Legend at 1,500), Five Stars, Chauffeur, Baggage Handler and Road Warrior

🪧 Ride Cards and Prompts

  • Pickups and drop-offs are marked with a floating Shyft card showing who you're collecting, their rating, group size, bags and distance. It turns green as you arrive and hides behind buildings
  • Rider chatter can appear as speech bubbles with the rider's initial, with a matching feed on screen. Toggle it in the app's Settings
  • The on-screen prompts have been redesigned with the Shyft mark and scale with your screen, so they read the same at 1080p or 4K

📱 STRP Phone

🗂️ Open Apps

Hold the home bar at the bottom of your phone or tablet to see the apps you have open. Business apps like Dark World or the Marketplace keep running after you leave them, so this is where you close them.

  • Tap a card to switch to that app. Press the cross or swipe a card up to close it
  • Close all closes every business app and takes you home
  • While business apps are running, the home bar shows on the home screen too, and a tap opens the list
  • A closed app starts fresh the next time you open it
  • Tablet only apps. Folding back to the phone with a tablet only app open no longer squeezes it onto the phone screen. It goes to the background and stays in Open apps, and opening it from there unfolds the tablet again

👥 Contacts and Messages

  • 2,000 contacts. Long contact lists carried over from your old phone now show in full. Contacts after the first 200 were hidden and new ones couldn't be added
  • Contact search by name, or by any part of their number
  • Contact pictures from your old phone show again. Any that are no longer available show the contact's initial instead of a broken image
  • Delete in bulk. In Contacts, tap Select, tick the ones you want gone or Select all, then Delete. The same works for conversations in Messages. They're only cleared from your phone, and new messages still come through
  • Share my contact. The share button in the Phone app has a clearer name, and Quick Share now shows you to everyone nearby by default so you can share your number with someone who hasn't saved you yet. Shares still have to be accepted, and you can switch to Contacts only or Off in Settings, Quick Share

⚙️ Settings and Handling

  • App size. A new slider in Settings, Display makes everything inside apps bigger or smaller without changing the size of the device. Display size still scales the whole phone or tablet
  • App sounds. Settings, Sound lets you turn off the sound for any app while still getting its notifications
  • No more screen darkening. The screen no longer darkens round the edges when you take your phone out. If you liked the shadow, turn it back on in Settings, Display, Darken the screen
  • Esc closes the phone in one press, wherever you are in it, and the app you were using is still open when you take it back out. It works while holding Alt to look around too, and the pause menu stays shut
  • No phone, no notifications. Without a phone or tablet on you, notifications no longer pop up and calls no longer ring. Callers hear that you're unavailable, and your messages are waiting when you pick it back up

🐢 Shellspace and Shellmates

  • InstaPic style profiles. Photos and videos show as a grid in the Media tab, and posts that are only words sit in the Turts Texts tab. Tap any tile to open the shell in full. Message and Block sit side by side under the header, and the back arrow moves to the top bar
  • Your profile, the way visitors see it. Your own profile now looks like everyone else's view of it. Tap Edit profile to show your bio, password, Reef alerts and profile colour, and Done to put them away. Tap your picture to change it, as before
  • VIP profile colours. VIPs can pick from 12 colours in Shellspace, Profile, Profile colour. Visitors see it from the background to your avatar ring and buttons, Royal Turtle profiles sparkle, and your colour is kept if your VIP lapses
  • Verified ticks carry over. A verified tick you paid for on Birdy, InstaPic or Trendy goes to your first Shellspace account automatically
  • Shellmates birthdays. Characters with a birthday written month first, like 12/18/2001, are no longer turned away as underage

🔧 Phone Fixes

  • State Portal record. The My record page showed every citizen a clean record. It now lists your arrest records and traffic citations with their charges, fines and jail time, plus your parole status. Open any entry to see the same details as the printed copy. Officers' written reports, warrants and APBs stay on the police side
  • Logging out with the camera up no longer leaves it on screen on your next character with the pause menu blocked
  • Opening a business app and then changing a setting, such as switching to tablet mode, no longer leaves the phone unresponsive

📞 Business Calls

Calling a business, and running one, works a lot more like a real phone line: businesses choose how their line rings, staff see who's calling before they answer, and calls can be passed around with the customer's location attached.

Call Routing Lands at Each City's Next Restart
Until then the Call routing card on the mainframe says the change takes effect after the restart, and the line keeps ringing everyone at once.

🔀 Call Routing

A call to a business used to ring every employee at once, so the fastest person grabbed every job. Businesses now choose how their line rings from the new Call routing card on the mainframe's Service Channels page.

  • Everyone at once: how it worked before, and still the default
  • In turn: one employee at a time, starting with whoever answered a business call longest ago. After up to three people it rings everyone. Each phone stops when the call moves on and shows "Passed to a colleague"
  • Ranks first: chosen ranks ring first, then everyone else joins while the first group keeps ringing
  • Each step rings for 5 to 15 seconds, set per business. Declining, going off business calls or disconnecting moves the call on straight away, and anyone already on a call is skipped
  • The new Call Routing permission controls who can change it. If the setting can't be read, the line rings everyone, so no call is lost

📲 On the Phone

  • See who's calling. When a customer rings your business, your phone shows who it is before you pick up. Known customers show their name, loyalty card and order count, new callers are marked as new, and the call shows which business line is ringing
  • Share your location from the call. Staff press Request location on the call screen and the customer gets a Share or Not now choice. While it's shared the worker sees the customer move and their GPS follows them, both phones show a card that stays after the call, and either side can stop at any time. The location key 6 still works too
  • Transfers take everything with them. The colleague sees who's calling, which line it is and who passed it on. You see who you're transferring to and can cancel, and if they don't pick up you stay on the call. A shared location moves with the call
  • Pass a call to anyone on shift. Transfer lists everyone in the business who is on shift, whether or not they have business calls turned on, so one person can take calls and pass each job to the nearest driver
  • Hand over a customer's location. After a call, the tracking card gets a Hand over button listing colleagues on shift. The live location moves to them and both of you are told
  • Blacklisted callers are turned away before anyone's phone rings. The caller is told the business isn't accepting calls from them, and staff aren't interrupted
  • Ring a customer back as the business. The customer sees the business's name and logo, the worker's own number stays private, and location sharing still works
  • Business logos everywhere. Calling a business shows its logo while it rings and during the call, Recents show the business's name and logo instead of a code and let you ring it again with a tap, and texts and notifications from a business carry its logo too. Long names wrap instead of being cut off
  • Updates arrive on your phone. Customers get order updates as a text from the business. Staff get new-order alerts, Business Calls Closed and "your customer is here" notices as phone notifications instead of pop-ups

🖥️ On the Mainframe

  • Missed calls are logged. The Calls page now records every call with its outcome: Answered, Missed, Declined, Nobody available or Barred. It shows answered calls over the last 7 days, missed and declined calls, nobody-available calls and your answer rate, and you can filter by any outcome
  • Calls tab on the customer page, next to Orders, listing every call they've made and how it ended
  • Barred calls have their own filter and count on the Calls page
  • Who's taking calls. Staff and Staff Map show a phone icon next to everyone who currently has business calls turned on
  • Clearer messages. The call buttons now say why a call didn't go through: no phone on you or restrained, nobody at the business taking calls, line busy, number unreachable, or the business isn't accepting calls from you
  • Fix: since the switch to the new phone, calls to businesses weren't appearing on the Calls page or being matched to customer records. They're recorded again with the right time and linked to the customer who rang

🚔 Police Equipment

Three new pieces of kit in the police armoury, each with its own job on a scene.

🦈 Shark Spike

The Shark Spike is a new deployable spike strip that replaces the old spike strips.

  • Place the case where you want it and pick a length of 1 to 5 segments with the arrow keys or mouse wheel. Auto fits the strip to the road
  • Deploy it straight away, or leave it stowed and armed for later
  • The strip follows slopes and camber, won't go through walls, and bursts one tyre per segment on every pass
  • The remote. Deploy, retract and pick up at the case, or take the paired remote and toggle it from a distance. The remote shows the strip's state on screen, and one remote can be linked to several strips
  • Officers see every Shark Spike on the map, deployed or stowed. Only police can read a remote's status

🚧 Mobile Cordon

A portable cordon officers build on the spot into a walk-through box with a front and rear door and two swing-out walls.

  • Choose the spot and rotation, then build it in about 30 seconds. Packing it back up takes 15
  • Walls swing open and slide out, with stairs that lower on each wall. Auto mode stops the walls short of anything in the way, or set swing and extension by hand
  • Open and close the doors individually or together, and deploy or stow the whole cordon in one go
  • Anyone outside can try to lockpick a closed door
  • Everyone sees the cordon in the same position

🤖 EOD Robot

A remote-controlled bomb disposal robot. Deploy it from the case and you're handed a controller paired to that robot.

  • Drive it from up to 200 m away. The signal warns you before it drops
  • Full manipulator arm: turret, shoulder, elbow, wrist, wrist roll and gripper, moved with keys or by mouse drag, plus ready-made poses such as stow, reach forward, pick up, inspect ground and look back
  • Head camera with pan and tilt, switchable to first-person view. Headlights and emergency lights
  • Climbs kerbs and stairs with its flippers
  • Loudspeaker. Talk through the robot at anything from a whisper to a loudhailer, or mute it
  • Only the operator can control a deployed robot. Nobody else can get in

🔨 Battering Ram

  • Picking up the battering ram now holsters whatever weapon you're holding, the same way the Shark Spike remote does, and drawing a weapon puts the ram away
  • You can no longer punch or melee while carrying it

💻 Police MDT

📷 ANPR Vehicle Hotlist

Vehicles can be added to an ANPR hotlist so cameras trace their movements without a BOLO on the owner.

  • Monitor or Wanted. Monitor is a quiet trace with a low-priority dispatch sighting. Wanted raises the same dispatch call as a BOLO'd vehicle and shows as a BOLO on police radars
  • Hotlist app with the entry list, a sighting trail on the map and a timeline, defaulting to the last 5 minutes. Adding, editing and removing entries records a reason
  • Vehicle records show the flag, recent sightings and the same actions
  • Every camera read of a listed plate reaches open terminals live
  • Police radars mark Monitor entries as HOTLISTED. A BOLO always outranks a quiet flag
  • Available to patrol and CID and above

🛂 Borders App

  • Live state of every border checkpoint, with controls per border and per road
  • LOCKDOWN for captains closes every border at once
  • Changes appear instantly on every open terminal, in game and on the web
  • Checkpoint barriers now respond correctly when toggled quickly in succession

👮 Staff and Announcements

  • Announcements to chosen departments. When sending a home announcement you now pick which departments receive it. All are selected by default, and Patrol covers officers without a department. The announcement screen has been rebuilt
  • Demotions. Staff with edit access could demote officers of equal rank, and in some cases higher ranks. You must now outrank someone to change their rank, can only place them below your own, need access to both departments involved, and can't change your own rank

📻 Radio and Bodycam

📡 TETRA Radio

  • Panic screen. While a panic alarm is active, the radio's screen shows it. Every officer on the alert sees the display flashing on their own radio and on the radios worn or held by everyone else involved, so you can tell at a glance who the alarm belongs to
  • Losing channel access moves you off it. Going off duty or being suspended used to remove the duty channel from your list but leave you tuned to it. You're now moved to the first channel you can still use

🎥 Bodycam and Worn Gear

  • Unlimited OBS recordings. Bodycam recordings made through OBS no longer stop at the maximum clip length, and hours-long recordings open instantly for playback, trimming and thumbnails
  • Fit presets linked to several outfits. Worn radio and bodycam mount positions can be managed as presets from the fit adjuster: create, rename, delete, switch the mount point and copy your current position into a new preset. Undo and Reset are separate
  • Link a preset to any number of your saved and job outfits from a picker, and the right preset applies automatically when you change outfit or log in

🔫 Weapons

🎯 Leaning Rework and Left-Shoulder Camera

  • Left shoulder. Leaning left now moves the camera over your left shoulder, so your aim dot is exactly where the shot goes
  • No more ghost peeks. While leaning you can only fire when the muzzle has a clear line to where you're aiming, the barrel isn't through a wall, and the shot wouldn't pass straight through a railing. Window glass is still fine to shoot through
  • Leaning is disabled in first person, stops when looking steeply up or down, and ends when you reload
  • Shots are blocked less often by the muzzle clipping into nearby cover

🎒 Weapons on Back

  • Using /clearped removed the weapons shown on your back, which let players hide what they were carrying. They now reappear straight away

🌑 Dark World and Crews

🚐 Smuggling Runs Reworked

Smuggling Runs are no longer one long, slow truck drive. Bring your own cars, because the van only takes you partway.

  • A faster van, a shorter drive. Escort a quicker, upgraded van from the pickup to a switch point a short way off
  • Company on the way. A car of armed men comes up behind the van and shoots from the windows until you stop and deal with them
  • The switch. At the switch point, take the crates out of the van one at a time and load them into your own cars. Then the van is ditched, along with the attention it was getting
  • The handoff. Drive the crates to the buyer's boat or plane and hand them over one at a time while his rivals come for the deal. He closes once they're dealt with, and you're paid for every crate he gets
  • Police mode. The van's plate is flagged on the cameras, and the deal at the buyer gets called in
  • Shorter routes, new handoffs. Routes are shorter overall, with new boat handoffs at Palomino and El Burro
  • The Dark World app, the booking message and the job card all tell you to bring your own cars

💰 Contract Pay

  • Closer to the street price. Dark World drug contracts were paying less per bag than selling the same bags on the street, even with a full streak. Coke and meth bags now pay more on every contract tier, with the highest tiers paying the most, and OG Kush, White Widow and Sojo Kush bags pay more too
  • A full streak or the week's In Demand item now pays a little more than the street, so keeping a streak going is worth it

📒 Mapscape Turf Ledger

Gangs can now track their turf safe money in Mapscape.

  • A manager turns on Turf ledger in a gang map's settings and chooses who can see it
  • Members log how much they took from a hood's safe, from the new Ledger tab or by clicking the hood on the map, with who emptied it, when, and whether the safe was full
  • Report page for any date range: total earned and earnings per day, each turf's takings, who empties the most and which turf, and a searchable history of every safe. Each turf has its own report too
  • Export everything to CSV or JSON, or create a feed link that keeps a spreadsheet up to date
  • Amounts are what members enter. Nothing is read from the game

🍷 Wine

🍾 Bottling

  • Bottle all. When you have more than one barrel of the same wine at the same age, the bottling menu offers to bottle them all, one after another. It stops on its own when you run out of empty bottles, filters or spouts, or your pockets are full, and you can cancel at any time
  • Remember my label. Tick "Remember this label" when naming your bottles and you won't be asked again. Pick "Change label" in the bottling menu whenever you want a new one
  • Bottling a wine barrel asked for more empty bottles than the barrel could ever fill. It now only asks for as many as a barrel can fill. Vodka is unchanged

⚖️ Balance

Wine was paying out far more than any other way of making money, so it has been brought back in line.

  • Aged bottles sell for less. Uncommon, rare, epic and legendary wine still sell for more than plain bottles at the Winery, just not by as much. Ageing a barrel is still worth it
  • Fewer bottles for high-level winemakers. The most experienced winemakers get a few fewer bottles from each barrel. Newer winemakers get the same number as before
  • Plain bottle prices are unchanged

🐞 Other Changes and Fixes

  • No more rain indoors. Rain could fall inside some apartments and houses and leave the whole interior soaked. The weather now stays dry while you're inside, for owners and for anyone let in at the door, and the view out of your windows still follows the real time of day. Using the unstuck command inside a property also brings the normal weather back once you're outside
  • Escorts. Being tased or tackled while escorting someone left them attached to an officer on the floor. The escort is now dropped the moment the escorter goes down
  • Cuffing, escorting and locker raids are now verified by the server. Cuffs need a police officer, zipties need a ziptie and cutters to remove, escorting needs a downed or restrained target, seating needs to be in range, and locker raids need senior police
